Katamari Tunes – The Moon and the Prince
I love the Katamari games and around every six months or so, I get an overwhelming desire to play them again and end up listening to their soundtracks on repeat for several days. The track above is from Katamari Forever, released on PS3 in 2009. Katamari Forever is sometimes maligned as a simple retread of previous games, because it’s mostly a popular compilation of levels from previous games brought into the HD era.
Even if you accept that criticism of the game though (and I don’t), what Katamari Forever has is an utterly sublime soundtrack including new songs and a few radical reworks of old favourites. The one linked above is probably my favourite of the lot, a Japanese rap, techno and pop mash-up version of The Moon and the Prince from Katamari Damacy. It’s pretty insane, and I love it for it. Check out that dirty bass line.

@chrull Ah yes, love that one. I liked how Katamari forever took both old tracks/levels and reworked ones.
@jodimullen That was the only time I've had a 360 controller in my hand and wanted a PS3 controller instead :D
@jodimullen Never played forever, just the original and... We love katamari(?) for the 360.
@jodimullen ah, yes. Avoid it, it's not very good and the sticks on the controller makes it worse
@chrull the 360 one was Beautiful Katamari I think. I haven't played it.
